Investigating the Coast

During our geography topic this term, Year 4 have been investigating how erosion affects the coastline. To support our learning, we travelled to Marsden Rock and Sandhaven Beach to experience the coastline first-hand.
We started our day at Marsden Rock beach where we completed field sketches of the coast, including: caves, arches, stacks and stumps. We then investigated rocks within a small sample area.
After our experience at Marsden Rock we walked back up the steps and began our walk to Sandhaven Beach.
Once we arrived at the beach, we had our lunch and began another field sketch of the coastline. Then, we had time for a play in the sand before we got on the bus back.
Please take a look at our photos from the day.
