Year 1 Visit to St. Mary's Lighthouse

Today, Year 1 had a fantastic visit to St. Mary's Lighthouse. We explored what life would have been like for a lighthouse keeper and the many jobs he would have had to do. We then bravely climbed the 137 steps all the way to the top of the lighthouse and enjoyed the beautiful views. After lunch we went seal spotting and saw lots of seals basking on the rocks. We then headed to the beach where we worked in teams to create some beach art. The children had lots of fun collecting natural materials such as shells, seaweed, rocks and sea coal to use for their art. What a lovely way to end the week!
