Year 4 Visit Vindolanda and Housesteads

Year 4 had an excellent visit to Vindolanda and Housesteads yesterday. We travelled to Vindolanda first, where the children enjoyed exploring the ruins of the Roman fort and town before having a look round the museum. After lunch, we got back on the coach to visit Housesteads. After walking up the steep hill, the children stood on Hadrian’s wall before investigating Housestead Roman fort. The children were brilliantly behaved and some quotes from them included ‘This is the best day ever’, ‘Isn’t nature beautiful’ and ‘Wow! We’re standing where Roman soldiers once stood!’
