Year 6 Greek Day

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic Greek Day, celebrating the history of Ancient Greece through costumes, traditional food, and themed activities.
The children arrived dressed as heroes, mythical villains, gods, and goddesses, bringing Ancient Greece to life in the classroom.
In the morning, Year 6 took part in a Greek food‑tasting session, where pupils were encouraged to try traditional flavours such as olives, feta, flatbreads, and honey. This sparked lots of discussion about how food has changed over time and the role it played in ancient Greek culture.
In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome parents and families into school to join in a series of interactive Greek‑themed workshops. Together, we explored democracy, the Olympics, the Greek alphabet, and a collection of artefacts. Pupils also proudly shared their completed non‑chronological reports about mythical beasts.
