Year 3's Trip to Beamish
.jpeg)
Year 3 had a fantastic day visiting Beamish Museum. We began by exploring the drift mine, wearing helmets and being very brave when the lights were turned off. Next, we took part in a Victorian lesson with a very strict teacher! We practised writing with ink and inkwells, which was tricky and very messy! We chanted the 12 times tables and created artwork about Grace Darling while learning how school life was different in Victorian times.
After lunch, we enjoyed time in the playground, trying hard to use the hoop and stick toy. We finished the day exploring the pit cottages and discovering how miners lived and slept – the beds did not look comfortable! We all really enjoyed our day.
