To support Year 2's history topic about castles, we had the opportunity to visit Newcastle Castle. We started our day with a tour of the black gate and then the castle keep. We learnt all about the design of the castle walls and the buildings and people that made up the interior. 
After lunch, we participated in a royal banquet workshop where we were able to role-play as kings, queens, servants and everything in between. We really enjoyed the day and ended up with a traditional medieval dance! Please enjoy looking at our images.
