Careers Week

A Fantastic Careers Week at Our School!
We are delighted to share that our recent Careers Week was a huge success! Throughout the week, the children took part in a wide range of activities designed to broaden their understanding of the world of work and inspire them to think about their futures.
Exploring the World of Work
Pupils learnt about many different types of jobs across a variety of sectors. They discovered the skills needed for different roles and had great discussions about what makes each job unique and important. From problem-solving and teamwork to creativity and communication, the children explored how different skills help people in their day‑to‑day work.
Understanding Personal Qualities
A highlight of the week was giving the children time to reflect on their own personal qualities. They thought about what they enjoy, what they’re good at, and how these strengths could link to future careers. It was wonderful to see how confidently they shared their ideas.
Challenging Gender Stereotypes
Careers Week also helped pupils challenge outdated assumptions about who can do which jobs. Through stories, discussions and real-life examples, they saw that anyone can pursue any career with determination and the right skills.
The Importance of Literacy in Every Job
Another key focus was understanding how crucial literacy skills are in almost every profession. Whether writing reports, reading instructions, communicating with colleagues, or using digital tools, the children learnt that reading and writing are essential in the world of work.
Thinking About Their Future
By the end of the week, many pupils were excited to share the careers they might like to explore when they’re older—from engineers and authors to scientists, designers, and everything in between!
A Huge Thank You to Our Parent Visitors
We were incredibly fortunate to have so many parent volunteers visit school to talk about their own careers. Your enthusiasm, time, and willingness to answer questions made a huge impact. The children were fascinated by your stories and learnt so much from hearing about real experiences.
Thank you so much to every parent who supported the week—we truly appreciate it.
