In DT this term Year 1 have been designing and creating their own stable pencil pot. First they explored stability by balancing and deciding whether structures with a wider base are more stable than ones with a narrow base. The children sketched their designs before using a variety of cutting and joining techniques to make their stable structures. Everyone was very proud of their finished products!
