Celebrating Bonfire Night in Early Years

Today in Early Years, we have been learning all about Bonfire Night! The children were fascinated to discover why we celebrate this special event and loved watching a dazzling firework display together on the computer.
To develop our fine motor skills, we made our very own glittery playdough fireworks, using bright colours and plenty of sparkle! The children enjoyed mark making in glitter, exploring patterns and shapes inspired by the fireworks they had seen.
We also got creative with firework prints, using toilet roll tubes to stamp colourful bursts onto paper.
During circle time, we learnt a fun firework song, which everyone joined in with enthusiastically, adding actions and sound effects.
To finish our exciting day, we made our very own edible sparklers! Using breadsticks, melted chocolate and sprinkles, the children created tasty treats that looked just like real sparklers. Before eating them, we waved them in the air and wrote our names with our delicious creations.
