Welcome to Year 4

Year 4 have had a great start to the new term and have settled back into school life brilliantly. The children have been busy learning, working together and developing new skills across the curriculum. In English, the children have been enjoying The True Story of The Three Little Pigs. The story has sparked some fantastic discussions as the children have explored the different perspectives of the wolf and the pigs. They have been engaging in lively debates about whose version of events they believe, using evidence from the story to explain and justify their opinions.

In PE, we have been very lucky to welcome a cricket coach into school on Fridays. The children have been learning how to hold a cricket bat correctly, catch a ball and develop their bowling technique. They have also been practising the important skills of teamwork and communication while having lots of fun along the way.

In Science, our topic this half term is States of Matter, where we are exploring solids, liquids and gases. The children have enjoyed getting hands-on with an exciting investigation involving raisins and lemonade. They made predictions about what they thought would happen before carrying out the experiment and then carefully observed the results.

We are looking forward to seeing their confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm continue to grow over the coming weeks!
