Spooky Fun In Nursery

Our Nursery children have enjoyed a fun-filled Halloween week full of exciting activities, exploration and sensory experiences!

We have been investigating pumpkins, comparing their size, colour, shape and weight. The children were fascinated as we opened up the pumpkins, exploring their textures, smells and squishy insides using their senses. We also had the opportunity to use child-friendly tools to scoop out the seeds and pulp, helping to develop our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

We have loved singing our class song, ‘Five Little Pumpkins’, and getting creative by printing with apples and orange paint to make our very own pumpkin pictures.

During our Squiggle While You Wiggle sessions, we have been practising stretching and wiggling our arms up and down. We then put these movements into practice in our mark-making area, using chalk to decorate pumpkins and develop our early mark-making skills.

We have had a fantastic first half term in Nursery, filled with fun, learning and new experiences. We are looking forward to another exciting half term ahead, full of festive fun and celebrations!
